The brief

Michelin Guide and Destination Vancouver needed the intro film for the ceremony. Not a recap to send out afterward. The film that plays to the room, and to the livestream audience, before the night starts.

The clock

Three hours. Shoot and edit, both. It had to be on screen by the time the doors opened.

The approach

No second pass and no time to cover anything twice. You shoot knowing the cut, take the frames that carry weight, and leave the rest. Fast isn't sloppy when you already know what you're looking for.
